Liyab Esports reveals new Wild Rift roster for 2022
Liyab Esports has announced its new League of Legends: Wild Rift roster for 2022. They will represent the squad in all official Riot Games tournaments, set to start next month.
The selection comes after a rigorous three-week, invite-only tryout that featured players from both Wild Rift and League of Legends PC teams of Liyab. Private and competitive scrimmages were held for participants. Moreover, the team used the opportunity to fill in its vacant head coach position. Finally, the players whose performance and rapport with the squad were the finest were chosen.
Here is Team Liyab's new roster for Wild Rift in 2022:
- Jay "Speltz" Tabarangao
- Edrian "Doedoii" Brancia
- Jhon Mike "Xyliath" Tungol
- Ren "Kanji" Motomitsu
- Gabriel Sebastian "Sho" Umali
- Klyde Perfection "Klyde" Abello
Gerald Gianne "Tgee" Gelacio will serve as the coach.
Speltz, Doedoii, Xyliath, Kanji, and coach Tgee were former members of Liyab's LoL PC group that represented them in the 2021 Pacific Championship Series.
Meanwhile, the two new members, Sho and Klyde, had significant mobile gaming experience in the Wild Rift pro scene. Sho was a former member Fennel Adversity team that represented the country in the 2021 LoL: Wild Rift Southeast Asia Championship. Klyde was formerly with Oasis Gaming and competed for Team Philippines in Hyperplay 2018, the first LoL competition with full ASEAN representation.
With new faces and senior leadership in place, the revamped Liyab Esports squad will now attempt to build on its accomplishment from the past year, when it finished third in the LoL: Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series PH - Summer Season 2021.
