South Korean game developer WeMade has announced that they are working on another NFT MMORPG named Legend Ymir.

According to WeMade XR, a subsidiary of WeMade, Legend Ymir is a next-generation MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) that follows the authenticity of the popular Legend of Mir series.

The game is a Northern European reinterpretation of the Mir universe, recreating Mir's story in a Nordic setting.

Legend of Ymir incorporated the core content and PVP-based gameplay of the Mir series, such as the siege battles.

The fantasy MMORPG is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 (UE5), utilizing its technologies, such as Lumen (for light source effect) and Nanite (for realistic high-capacity sources). UE5's upscaling technology was also used to maintain the quality for all resolutions, FHD, QHD, and UHD.

In Legend of Ymir's technical demo video, the developers showed a character named Brynhildr, where they used a system called Groom to create realistic textures for characters. They also adopted Epic's MetaHuman Creator to create their own resources in designing unique eyes.

At the moment, WeMade doesn't reveal the platform availability and release date of Legend of Ymir.

For the uninitiated, WeMade is known for PC titles The Legend of Mir 2 (2001) and The Legend of Mir 3 (2004).

In 2021, the game company released its blockchain-based MMORPG called MIR4, available for PC, Mac M1, Android, and iOS. The NFT game incorporates a free-to-play and play-to-earn model. It has its utility token called Draco, minted by playing the game. Players need to mine "Darksteel" in-game, then smelt it to get Draco.

MIR4 also features Character NFT, allowing players to seal and tokenize their characters and trade them through the decentralized WeMix Wallet.
