Liyab bags 3rd spot in LOL: Wild Rift Frontier Contenders 2021 Tournament

Team Liyab beat Sunsparks, 2-1, to secure third place in the League of Legends: Wild Rift Frontier Contenders 2021 Tournament on February 25.

Liyab, the professional esports team of Globe Telecom in partnership with Mineski, was among the eight teams in the Philippines invited to participate in the online tournament, highlighting the mobile version of the iconic online game League of Legends.

Head Coach Edriane "Eds" Balbalosa said, "Although we placed 3rd in this preseason tournament our team is making the necessary adjustments to be better. This tournament is a great exposure to the team as we gear up towards the Wild Rift ICON Series Preseason coming in March. We hope you continue to support us."

Before settling for the bronze medal match against Sunspark, Team Liyab won against RRQ PH but lost to Nexplay. The grueling fight between Liyab and Sunspark ended in a 2-1 series.

The all-Filipino team Liyab is composed of Eric "EXOSEN" Gubatan, Nicoli "NICCSU" Montenegro, Allen Dean "DON" Viola, Miguel "MIGGIE" Banaag, Kevin "GAMBIT" Dizon, Robert "MORAYTABOY" Tan, and Lars "3SH" Maniego.

Liyab is prepared to compete in various community events leading up to the Wild Rift ICON Series Pre-season, which will take place next month on March 20, 2021.
