Redmi 9 Power, an entry-level smartphone featuring a 6000mAh battery, Snapdragon 662 chipset, and 48MP quad cameras, was launched in India on December 17, 2020. The Redmi 9 Power launch appears to be the Redmi India's last device for the year. This smartphone is apparently a rebranded Redmi Note 9 4G China variant with a difference only on design and camera setup. It also has the same specs as the recently launched POCO M3, except for its camera and design.

The Redmi 9 Power comes with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display that features a waterdrop notch at the top. The display has certifications, including Low Blue Light Certification by TÜV Rheinland and Widevine L1 certification. The screen is also protected by a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor (SD 662), which comes with an octa-core CPU configuration clocked up to 2GHz. It runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 10, coupled with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Its storage uses UFS 2.2 technology, which allows much faster read and write speeds. The UFS 2.2 comes with the WriteBooster enables faster application startup and cache loading.

This budget phone also comes with an 8-megapixel selfie camera inside the notch. It is packed with a massive 6,000mAh battery bundled with an 18W fast charging support. The 6000mAh battery can last up to 29 days in standby mode and have an average usage time of 26 hours of Full HD video playback and 13.5 hours of gaming. This model also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, hi-res audio certified stereo speakers, IR blaster, and support for reverse wireless charging.

The Redmi 9 Power is available in two variants, 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB, and is officially priced in India. The company has announced that the Redmi 9 Power will start retailing the 4GB + 64GB variant for Rs 10,999, while the higher-end 4GB + 128GB will be available for purchase for Rs 11,999. Along with Xiaomi India's offline stores and its affiliate stores, the phone will be available for purchase from Mi.com and Amazon.in. These two variants are available in four colors, Mightly Black, Fiery Red, Electric Green, and Blazing Blue. Redmi India has confirmed that the device will go on sale on December 22.
