PLDT rolls out free Speed Boost to select Fibr, DSL subscribers

PLDT started rolling out free speed boost to select PLDT Home Fibr and DSL subscribers, since September and still continuing this Q4 2019. This speed boost is said to be another permanent speed upgrade from last year's speed upgrade plan. But this time, speed boost implementation is gradual, as PLDT offers it to select subscribers by batch.

PLDT sends out text or email message to qualified Home Fibr, Google Wifi, Whole Home Wifi and VDSL/DSL subscribers containing the free speed boost offer for their PLDT Home account. So it is recommended that your mobile number and email address in PLDT myHome account are updated to receive the SMS or email from PLDT HOME. To check or update your records, just go to https://my.pldthome.com/ or download the MyPLDT Smart App via Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Text message from PLDT HOME - "Hi <NAME>! As a way of thanking you for being with us, we're giving you a FREE speed boost for your account with landline number xxxx - <last 5 digits> so you and your family can enjoy faster internet. Just click this link to get started: <a bit.ly URL>"

Email from PLDT HOME with subject "Get your FREE permanent speed boost now!" and body message "Hi <Name>! Get up to double the speed from your existing PLDT HOME Fibr Plan. Simply click on the button below to avail of the FREE UPGRADE: <button with CLICK HERE text>"

The SMS and email includes a link to a portal where the subscriber needs to input landline number to receive an OTP code (valid for 15 minutes) for verification. Upon official rollout in November 2019, the link of portal is pldt.com.ph/speedboost. The full URL for landline number validation once accessed is https://www.pldt.com.ph/ConsentPortal/SBC-ServiceNoValidation.aspx

Upon completion of process, an email confirmation with subject "PLDT Home: Speed Boost" will be sent via the registered email to confirm the speed boost.

The landing page after the email confirmation - "Congratulations! Please expect your new speed to take effect within 24 hours. We will notify you as soon as this is completed."

This is the text message from PLDT Home once speed boost successfully took effect - "Great news <NAME>! Your family can now enjoy faster internet speeds of up to <NEW SPEED>! Reports say that this will automatically take effect for selected PLDT Fibr, VDSL and DSL subscribers. PLDT Speed Bonanza is a free limited time boost promo which runs from February 1-29, 2020. After the given duration, you are then asked if you want to avail the promo.
