La historia gira en torno a los “Minimum” o “Minor Miracle”, unos poderes especiales hereditarios que sólo se han descubierto en un número muy limitado de seres humanos. A estas personas se las conoce como los “Minimum Holders”.

Nice y Murasaki son par de socios de una agencia de detectives llamada “Hamatora” que tiene base en Yokohama en el año 2014. Su “oficina” resulta ser una mera mesa en el “Café Nowhere” en la que esperan, junto a sus amigos, a que vengan clientes. Un viejo conocido suyo y policía llamado Art les contrata para un caso de asesinatos en serio que está investigando y descubren que todas las víctimas son “Minimum Holders”. Al serlo ellos mismos, Nice y Murasaki se enfrascan en el caso les guste o no.
